PHISHING
Please examine emails carefully and be on guard against phishing attempts.
What is phishing?
Phishing is a type of online scam where criminals impersonate legitimate organizations via email, text message, advertisement or other means in order to steal sensitive information.
If you suspect that an email or text message you received is a phishing attempt:

Verify the sender is who you think it is. How? In Gmail, hover over the sender's name without clicking and double-check the email address.
- If you aren't sure, Do not open it. In some cases, the act of opening the phishing email may cause you to compromise the security of your personal information.
- Do not download any attachments accompanying the message. Attachments may contain malware such as viruses, worms or spyware. Especially when marked outside of the district.
- Never click links that appear in the message. Links embedded within phishing messages direct you to fraudulent websites.
- Do not reply to the sender. Ignore any requests the sender may solicit and do not call phone numbers provided in the message.
- Report it. Help others avoid phishing attempts:
Report a phishing email:
- On a computer, go to Gmail.
- Open the message.
- Next to Reply, click More.
- Click Report phishing. (If you report then email is removed and marked as spam. Plus, Google will investigate and block it).
