Principal's Message

Jason Binegar, Principal

Welcome to Miami Trace Middle School, home of the Panthers! My name is Jason Binegar and I am honored to be the Principal and serve our community. Since 2001 I have been a part of the Miami Trace team in many roles, including teacher, assistant principal, middle school athletic director, and principal. I feel very blessed and fortunate to work in a district that supports a team approach and is student centered.

It is the purpose of our school to not only provide an excellent learning environment for our students, but also help them grow and mature as responsible young men and women. We work to utilize our resources to create a positive and safe atmosphere where all students can mature and excel.

We are very excited about the opportunities and activities we provide to assist our students academically as well as emotionally and socially. Panthers Circle is a character education program provided to our students to enhance their overall educational experience at MTMS by discussing topics such as bullying, responsibility, work ethic, appropriate social cues, etc. We also work to provide our students with extra support by providing an intervention period to our teachers where they work with specific students to pre-teach and reteach content for student enrichment.

We have high expectations at the middle school for our teachers and our students. Through educational guidance and parental efforts, we collaboratively achieve success and encourage students to strive toward achievement in the years following their middle school experience. Our school expectations are:

Everyday, come prepared to learn.

Always be respectful.

Make good choices.

Dear Panther Community:

Thank you for visiting our Miami Trace Middle School Web Page! My name is Michelle Teis and I am honored to be the Middle School Assistant Principal! I have been a part of the Miami Trace community since 2001, where most of my time was spent in the classroom as a teacher at both Bloomingburg and our new building.

Parental involvement is a vital aspect in increasing student achievement, and the team at MTMS invites parents and family members to be active and communicate throughout your student’s learning. My goal, in my position, is to continue working closely with parents, community members, staff, and students to promote an environment of positivity and student learning.
