Jennifer Potts

Kindergarten Teacher With a passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning, I have dedicated 18 years of my life to shaping the lives of countless kindergarteners at Joseph Brown Elementary. My journey as an educator began with a deep-rooted belief in the power of early childhood education and its profound impact on a child's development. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2004 and my Master’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2014. During my time at JBES, I have taught kindergarten, first grade, third grade and fourth grade. Throughout my career, I have created a vibrant and engaging classroom environment where curiosity is celebrated, and creativity knows no bounds. My commitment to individualized learning has allowed me to cater to the unique needs of each student, helping them embark on their educational journey with confidence. As an advocate for interactive and play-based learning, I have continuously innovated my teaching methods to align with the latest educational research and practices. My ability to blend academic concepts with hands-on experiences has earned me the admiration of students, parents, and colleagues alike. Beyond the classroom, I actively participated in mentor programs, to share my expertise with other teachers. My warm and compassionate nature fosters strong connections not only with my students but also with their families, creating a supportive and inclusive learning community. I also enjoy spending my free time with my husband and two daughters on the Tennessee River, enjoying the water. As a teacher of 18 years of dedicated service, I am amazed at the impact I have had on generations of young learners.
