As principal of Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School, it is my mission to meet the academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of all students. As instructional leader, I will align resources defined in the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to promote transparency of resource allocation, tie resources directly to students’ needs, support innovation and community engagement, and monitor and report on use of resources. I will provide a safe and secure learning environment for students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members. I will foster partnerships to bring Verdugo Woodlands into the 21^st Century in the area of technology and prepare teachers and students for the rigors of the Common Core State Standards. I will encourage students to be College and/or Career Ready, and provide Intervention Programs to close the Achievement Gap. I vow to be fair and consistent, even in the face of adversity and to uphold the policies and responsibilities set forth by the Glendale Unified School District and California’s Education Code.
