A message from Mr. Johnson...

Hello Students and Parents, and welcome back to the 2021 - 2022 school year.

I teach AP Psychology and AP European History at CVHS, and it will be my pleasure this school year to teach your son or daughter.

As of now (the beginning) of the school year, we will be finally be meeting in person.

We also have quite a few changes to kick off the new school year:

1. We now have a block schedule (it may take a a litte time for all of us meaning students and teachers to adjust to this change).

2. We are finally returning to school in person (CVHS is a safe campus, masks will be required while indoors, meaning in the classroom).

3. It is my hope that we will return to a fully normalized school year sometime this academic school year.

With that being said, I will be using the following digital platforms this school year to compliment in-class instruction: Google Classroom and AP Classroom.

A quick overview of the platforms and how they will be utilized this instructional year.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM is the platform we will use as the main site to access assignments, class materials and links to additional resources.

This is also the platform you can use to access class materials, class videos, and other class information in the event that you miss class or lose any class handouts, worksheets, etc.

Students, we will be signing up and adding my Google Classroom pages in-class during first few days of the school year (bring your chromebook or other digital device).

Parents, if you would also like to be added to the class as a guardian to have access to the site to stay in the loop, please send me an e-mail, I can add you as well.

AP CLASSROOM is the platform we will use to prepare and practice for the AP Exam that your son or daughter should be planning to take in May.

There will be activities assigned as homework from this site that will be graded and added to in-class grades.

The types of assignments on AP Classroom are set up to replicate and practice for the AP Exam, these include the following:

1. Multiple Choice Tests

2. DBQ's (Document Based Questions)

3. LEQ's (Long Essay Questions)

4. SRQ's (Short Response Questions)

Students, we will be signing up and adding AP Classroom in-class during first few days of the school year (bring your chromebook or other digital device).
