These professions include Patient Care Technicians, Nursing Assistants, Medical Assistants, EKG Technicians, Phlebotomy Technicians, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, etc. The Health and Nursing Science core curriculum will prepare students for future success in the health care industry.
Students will have the opportunity to obtain many health care certifications. These include but are not limited to First Aid, CPR, Stop the Bleed, and Patient Care Technician. During the program, students will learn and develop essential hands-on clinical skills that are imperative for said health care professions.
Students will also have the opportunity to engage in clinicals in a nursing home, hospital, and/or doctor’s office setting. This will allow students to experience health care professionals in action and help students identify which career they want to pursue in health care.
