Direct Certification Notifications

Direct Certification

Clovis Unified participates in Direct Certification. If your household currently receives benefits from one of the following programs: CalFresh (Food Stamps or Snap), California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs or TANF) or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), you will receive a notification and will not impact your no cost meal status.  You will be notified of your children’s eligibility for no-cost meal benefits through Direct Certification as required by the California Department of Education.

If you receive a notice from CUSD Campus Catering informing you that children in your household have been directly certified, you may use this notification letter for other qualifying benefits by presenting the information to that specific qualifying program.

CEP (Community Eligibility Provision)

Clovis Unified School District will serve breakfast and lunch at no cost under the Community Eligibility Provision program (CEP) to students at all Clovis Unified School District schools.

What does this mean for you and your children attending Clovis Unified school(s)?
Students at CEP qualifying sites are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no cost to your household each day of the 2024-2025 school year. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.

*Community Eligibility Provision – Allows schools and local educational agencies to provide no-cost meals to all students enrolled in eligible areas and eliminates the burden of collecting household applications to determine eligibility for school meal programs.
