I started my career in education teaching 3rd and 5th grade in Burke County. I came to Caldwell County about 10 years ago and have been teaching ESL ever since.

A Chinese proverb states that " Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself." It tells me that a teacher can introduce you to knowledge and the world, but you must apply that knowledge for yourself.

I chose to go into teaching simply because of my mother. She was a principal and I saw how many people she impacted daily. I spent a lot of time in her schools and interacted with the people she touched. There were so many people who loved her and she helped them all. I knew I wanted to give back like my mother did, so I followed her career path.

I love the coffee shops in Caldwell County! Blue Moose, The Local Bean, and LC Coffee Shack are some of my favorites!

I enjoy spending time with my husband and fur babies when I have some free time. I also enjoy reading, listening to music, and cooking.
