Welcome! My name is Katelyn Hester and I am proud to be a South Caldwell Spartan. At SCHS I work in the Exceptional Children's (EC) department where I serve students with a variety of disabilities in  academic settings. Along with serving as an IEP case manager, I will be teaching  students in the OCS course of study, as well as a section of English 2 for our Future Ready students.  I am certified in General Special Education and English (6-12). I am also excited to be the club sponsor for Unified Champions/Project Unify this year! 

I have a true passion for helping students find their love of learning at their own ability level. I have found that students learn best when they can apply it to their own personal interests. I also love sharing my own personal love of reading with my students and helping them know that books can open many doors into the world for them.  I want to know that when my students graduate that they have reached their highest potential and are ready to explore all that life can bring them. 

In my personal life I enjoy spending time outdoors kayaking or camping with my husband and our sweet pups. During the winter months you can often find me in Raleigh cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes.
