I am beginning my 27th year of teaching. I have taught kindergarten and third grade. I left the classroom for 4 years and worked as an instructional facilitator and a literacy specialist.

So often you find that the students you're trying to inspire are the ones that end up inspiring you.

I am an educator because the profession chose me. I truly believe that true teachers are called into the profession to make a difference in the life of a child.

One of my favorite places in Caldwell County is the downtown area.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends at the local restaurants and shops in downtown Lenoir. I love supporting small businesses that are unique to our area. One of my favorite places is Tybrisa Bookstore. I love to go and find new books there to read myself or to share with my students.
