I began my teaching career at Granite Falls Middle School in 1995 teaching middle school chorus.  I taught there for 2 years before deciding to move to Sawmills Elementary School in 1998 to teach elementary school music.

I received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a Masters of Music Education Degree from Appalachian State University.  I am certified in Orff-Schulwerk Levels I, II and III.
