Hello everyone! My name is Katelyn Walters and this year I am excited to be at NCMS as the literacy interventionist and coach. I will be working with all three grade levels with both teachers and students to support them in their reading. This is my 9th year of teaching. I previously taught 3rd and 2nd grade at Harrisburg Elementary and Weddington Hills Elementary. I graduated in 2014 with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from UNC Charlotte. I went back and received my Masters degree in Reading Education K-12 from UNCC in 2018.

A little about me. I live in Kannapolis with my husband Bobby and our fur baby- Dexter the lab mix. My husband and I got married in 2020 and will be celebrating our 2-year anniversary this fall. In my free time I love to read, watch movies, and play board games. When the weather is cool, I also love to take walks with Dexter in the new downtown area of Kannapolis.
