Dear Families and Students of Room A157,
Hello and welcome to Northwest Cabarrus STEM Middle School! I am Ms. Wheeler, your child’s Science Teacher. I look forward to building a positive relationship with you and your child this school year!
This is my third year at NCMS and seventh year teaching science. My home state is Michigan, but I have lived in California, the United Kingdom, and now North Carolina. I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Education and Integrated Science and a minor in Elementary Education. While living in California and England, I taught both Seventh and Eighth Grade Science. I also spent time as a Lower School Science Lab Teacher and Middle School Curriculum Coordinator while in the UK. I enjoy educating children and helping them grow into responsible citizens. Throughout the school year, I will support your child in learning about the wonderful world of science and I hope to learn from your child too.
When I am not educating students in the classroom, I enjoy golfing, reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors with family and friends. While living in England, I had the opportunity to explore many different countries. I was amazed at the beautiful landscape and diverse culture unique to each location!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at barbara.wheeler@cabarrus.k12.nc.us. The best time to reach me over the phone is after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm - 4:30pm using ext. 39157. I look forward to the new school year and educating your child about science - Go Titans!
Sincerely,
Ms. Wheeler
