  • What is WorkKeys?

    The WorkKeys assessment is designed to measure students' career readiness as they prepare to enter college and the workforce by assessing their abilities in three core areas: Graphic LiteracyWorkplace Documents and Applied Math. Students' performance in these areas is meant to demonstrate their abilities to potential employers through the use of standardized, quantitative metrics. 

    Who Takes WorkKeys?

    Identified seniors who are Career and Technical Education/STEM concentrators. WorkKeys is part of North Carolina's school accountability program. Students will be notified in the fall of their senior year if they are required to take this exam.

    The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)

    The NCRC indicates that you have the foundational workplace skills needed to succeed. NCRC is awarded at the following levels:

    • Bronze Signifies an individual has scored at least a Level 4 on each of the three assessments.
    • Silver Signifies an individual has scored at least a Level 5 on each of the three assessments.
    • Gold Signifies an individual has scored at least a Level 6 on each of the three assessments.
    • Platinum Signifies an individual has scored a Level 7 on each of the three assessments.

     

    NCRC
