BA English/Creative Writing - Emmanuel College National Board Certified Teacher
Ninth Grade English
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a focus in Creative Writing from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia, later earning my licensure in English Education. I am a National Board Certified Teacher, and I have a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction for Secondary English from UNCC. I am also the Prom and Anchor Club advisor and AIG chair. I previously taught in CMS for nearly two years before joining the Early College Program. I am excited to begin another year at Cabarrus Early College of Technology! I teach ninth grade English, which includes a survey literature course fall semester, and Sophomore and Senior Seminar in the spring.
I have teaching experience in Standard and Honors English I. I have also previously been a reading/writing tutor at Huntington Learning Center - working with all ages - and a writing tutor at Emmanuel College. Though most of my experience is in research and creative writing, I equally love and appreciate literature. I have a strong interest in historical fiction and American Literature.
