About Mrs. Preston:
I am a Cabarrus County native who was raised in Mt. Pleasant, NC. In 2006, I graduated from UNC Charlotte with my teaching degree and began working at Concord Middle School. After a couple of years of teaching, I decided that I wanted to further my education and get my Masters Degree in Education.  In 2009,  I received my masters in Middle Grades Education from UNC Charlotte with concentrations in math and science. From January 2007- March 2014 I was a Science Teacher at Concord Middle School. During my tenure at Concord Middle School I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science as well as a Reading Intervention class. In March of 2014 I took a position at Concord Middle School as a Lead Teacher/ Instructional Coach where I worked with teachers to ensure that they were creating lessons that kept students attention while managing any disruptive behaviors seamlessly. In 2018 I took on the role of a MTSS District Support Coach where I worked with several schools to help ensure that students were provided the supports they needed in school to be successful.  Last year I went back into the classroom and taught 7th grade Math and AMPS at Mount Pleasant Middle School. I am excited to begin my third year on the Rocket Staff at ROSA as a Lead Teacher and 6th grade & 7th grade AMPS teacher and Math 1 teacher.

I am passionate about kids and I want each of my students to gain the skills that they need to be successful both in my classroom and in the real world. Not all students learn the same, have the same interests, or need the same thing from a teacher. My goal is to get to know each and every student and create a classroom that fits each of their needs!

When I am not teaching, you will find me at the beach with my family! I am a proud mom of a stepdaughter, Phoenix (13), son, Holden (almost 6), and daughter, Dixie (almost 4).
