Mrs. Melody Marsh608 Dakota StreetKannapolis, NC 28083Phone: (704) 260-6310Hello! I am Melody Marsh, the Principal at Royal Oaks School of the Arts. Education has always been a top priority for me, and I consider myself blessed to be able to do what I love. I am originally from Salisbury, North Carolina and am a graduate of South Rowan High School. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I returned to Cabarrus County and became a teacher at Royal Oaks Elementary, where I taught for 14 years. During that time I also completed my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education through UNCC, as well as my National Board Certification for Professional Teaching Standards. After so many years in the classroom, I decided I would like to become an administrator. I went back to school and earned my Master’s Degree of School Administration from UNCC. I then served as the Assistant Principal at Royal Oaks Elementary for two years and for one year at Charles E. Boger Elementary School before becoming the Principal of Royal Oaks School of the Arts..My philosophy of education is simple. I believe all children can learn. Through arts integration, we are able to set the stage for engagement in the classroom and ensure each student is able to showcase their knowledge through multiple pathways. The key is learning what each student needs and personalizing their education to align with those needs. The challenge is making learning meaningful and tapping into student interests. The joy is convincing students they are capable of achieving anything they set their mind to! The reward is changing lives…one day at a time.
