Ms. Kimberly Mayhew

Welcome to my 8th grade ELA course.In this class we will explore texts, become better readers and engage in a great deal of collaboration! Students will learn to be critical thinkers. 

I have been teaching middle school for 10 years, mostly in Cabarrus County, and a short time at a local charter school. I have a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Appalachian State with English Language Arts 6-9 licensure from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte along with a Master's in Reading Education K-12. 

I have two daughters, Kaylee, who is a senior at UNCG, and Kendall, who is a student at Mt. Pleasant High School. I also have a four-legged grandson, Bentely, who is a Yorkie Dachshund mix.

I love to travel to other countries and spending time with my family and friends. In addition to teaching, I have a passion for creating projects using my Cricut.
