Ms. Melissa Mascari, M.A., NCSP

I am very excited to be in my sixth year at Concord Middle School. I am originally from Franklin, Massachusetts, but I have lived in North Carolina since 2001. I have a B.A. in psychology from Belmont Abbey College and an M.A. in school psychology from Western Carolina University. This is my 14th year as a fully licensed school psychologist, and my 12th year in middle school. I am also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. I love getting to know students and watching them achieve their personal goals.

I am a certified trainer of the Reconnect for Resilience program, which is a trauma-focused community resiliency training that helps others to stay well when living in chronic stress or when they have lived in past chronic stress.

I am also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I co-deliver this program with Ms. Donegan, School Counselor, through small groups and individual sessions with students. Through these groups, we teach and support self-regulation and social skills for better social/emotional functioning.

I love camping, hiking, tubing, and spending time in the mountains. I also love to read historical fiction, especially from the late 19th century.
