South Colonie Bus Drivers Help Families in Need

South Colonie school bus drivers and monitors used their Saturday morning (Dec. 22) to spread Christmas cheer to area families in need. Approximately 40 boxes of groceries were delivered to families in our school district in time for the holidays. Each box contained enough supplies to feed a family for a week. They were joined by South Colonie administrator William Boardman in the delivery to each home.

This act of kindness follows the successful Stuff the Bus with Toys For Tots drive that ended last week. Our drivers and monitors are very special people and find great happiness in helping others. It’s part of the DNA of a school transportation professional. Making sure your child gets to and from school safely is our first goal…feeding these same kids during school breaks is icing on the cake. Please take a minute to thank your child’s driver/monitor for what they do everyday. Happy Holidays to all!
