Lisha Kill Middle School students in Mrs. Bell’s fifth grade science class participated in a STEM challenge called The Elf on the Shelf Zip-Line. Student were challenged to create a vehicle using limited supplies to get an elf from on top of the shelf to the floor traveling on a zip-line. Specific criteria for students designs had to be met. Students had to take into account how friction and center of gravity could impact their design as well. *Real” elves were not touched during this challenge. Barbie dolls were used instead.
