The South Colonie ENL (English as a New Language) Department held its 27th annual ENL Picnic and Awards Ceremony at Sand Creek Middle School in June. Families of ENL students from throughout the district gathered together for a pizza dinner, outdoor fun, and an awards ceremony celebrating the students’ progress in English this year. The elementary students opened the awards ceremony with a song, “Hello to All the Children of the World.” Students at the middle and high schools gave a warm welcome to next year’s 5th and 9th grade students to their respective schools. As always, there was a wonderful turnout for this celebration. We are so appreciative of the students, parents and teachers for helping to make this such a special event each year!
