Three Colonie Central High School students were among several hundred Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School students were honored on June 4 for their excellence in programs preparing them for future careers in professions ranging from health care to network technician.
With a packed house of parents, family members, friends, faculty and staff, BOCES administrators and educators from their home districts looking on, the 400 program completers and dozens were honored during an evening ceremony at Proctors in Schenectady. Honored from CCHS were:
- Automotive Trades I
Unique Dupree — Growth in Achievement - Certified Nursing Assistant
Danielle Carr — Outstanding Student - Welding and Metal Fabrication
Malachi Smith — Growth in Achievement
Also honored by CTE this year was Colonie Central High School’s Dominick Ieraci (not pictured here) of the Electrical Trades I program. He was one of 58 Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School students inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) in May.
To be honored, students had to meet several criteria, including earning grade point averages (GPA) of 92 or greater at Career & Tech and an overall GPA of 85 or greater at their high schools, as well as having five or fewer absences.
