Testing: SAT, ACT, PSAT, AP
Many colleges and universities are test optional, or may not even consider test scores if submitted. Some colleges and universities may consider test scores, or require them for certain majors. Check with each prospective college to confirm its testing requirements. Students who plan to apply to colleges/universities outside of the UC an CSU systems are advised to take the PSAT in October of 11th grade (and 10th grade if desired) for practice, and to take the SAT and/or ACT. Please reach out to CCC staff or your Counselor if you would like to discuss this in further detail. Students who are planning to attend community college after high school are not required to complete the ACT or SAT. Placement in community college courses is typically based on performance in senior year classes.

Testing at TL and in Marin County this year:
This year the PSAT will be offered to students in grades 10 and 11 on Saturday, October 15th. Secondary Education Director, Glen Dennis, will be coordinating the PSAT administration and will communicate information with staff and students soon.
The ACT will be offered at TL on the following dates: September 10 , October 22, December 10, April 15, June 10, July 15
The SAT will be offered at Novato High on August 27. The SAT will then begin being offered at SR on the following dates: October 1, Nov, 5, Dec. 3, March 11, May 6, June 3
FEE WAIVERS: If you are a Senior or Junior who is eligible for a fee waiver for the ACT or SAT, please contact your counselor. Eligibility for fee waivers is based on family income.
