Safe & Sober Grad Night

Safe and Sober General Information

Safe & Sober Grad Night is our final gift to our graduating seniors.  It is an amazing night filled with good friends, good food and tons of fun!  All parents - Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Class are encouraged to volunteer actively. We need everyone to join in! Volunteers are needed to assist with fundraising, publicity, volunteer coordination, decorations, registration and chaperones the night of the event (senior parents get that night off and it’s a great way for all other parents to see what’s in store).

The Safe and Sober Grad Night program was developed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in 1985 in response to the large majority of graduating seniors who were celebrating their completion of high school with unsupervised parties where alcohol was being provided and consumed. Unfortunately, many of these parties resulted in alcohol related crashes, injuries and deaths. In an effort to decrease these incidents, the CHP, along with local volunteers and parents, established an awareness campaign to include fundraisers culminating in a safe and sober all night graduation celebration. Terra Linda High School has joined high schools across the country as a Safe and Sober grad night participant for over 25 years. The parent committee is composed of volunteer parents from all grade levels to plan, fundraise and implement a safe and fun-filled graduation celebration for all TLHS graduates.
