First Grade

My name is Megan DiGirolamo, and I am very excited to join the first-grade team at Bahia Vista. I am a San Rafael native and graduated from Terra Linda High School. I completed my undergraduate and Multiple Subject Credential at Chico State University. After graduating, I joined the Peace Corps and moved to Kosovo where I taught middle school English. This past year, I worked as a substitute teacher and fell in love with first grade. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family, running, swimming, and crocheting. I look forward to working with the Bahia Vista community. Go Dragons! 

Me llamo Megan DiGirolamo, y estoy emosionada de unirme al equipo de primer grado en Bahia Vista.  Soy nativa de San Rafael y me gradué de la Escuela Preparatoria Terra Linda.  Complete mis estudios de licenciatura y Credencial en Materias Multiples en la Universidad Estatal Chico. después de graduarme, me uní al Cuerpo de Paz y me mude a Kosovo donde enseñe inglés a nivel de la escuela intermedia.  El año pasado, trabajé como maestra suplente y me enamore del primer grado.  Cuando no estoy trabajando, me gusta pasar tiempo con mi familia, correr, nadar, y tejer a gancho.  Espero con interés trabajar con la comunidad de Bahia Vista. ¡Adelante Dragones! 

My name is Sarah Hagerty and I currently teach first grade. I have been teaching at Bahia Vista since 2006. Prior to teaching first grade, I spent four years teaching kindergarten. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from California State University, Chico and my teaching credential from Dominican University of California. I have a special bond with San Rafael City Schools, as I am a product of this school district, having attended Glenwood Elementary School and Davidson Middle School.   I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to teach in the district that I grew up in. I love making a difference in the lives of my students and providing them with a solid foundation for becoming lifelong learners. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling and watching the San Francisco Giants.   

Me llamo Sarah Hagerty y actualmente enseño primer grado. He estado enseñando en Bahia Vista desde 2006. Antes de enseñar  primer grado, pase cuatro años enseñando en el Jardín de Niños.  Recibími Licenciatura en Desarrollo del Niño de la Universidad Estatal de California, Chico y mi credencial de maestra de la Universidad de California Dominican.Tengo un lazo muy especial con el Distrito Escolar de San Rafael, ya que estudie eneste distrito escolar, habiendo asistido a la Escuela Primaria Glenwood y la Escuela Intermedia Davidson. Me siento muy afortunada de tener la oportunidad de enseñar en el distrito en el que crecí.  Me da mucha satisfacción el hacer una diferencia en la vida de mis estudiantes  y proporcionándoles una base sólida para convertirse en estudiantes de por vida.  Me encanta pasar tiempo con mis amigos y familia, viajar e ir a ver a los Gigantes de San Francisco.
