S.O.A.R. STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT ALASKA AND VISIT LOCAL ANIMAL FARM
Mr. Bill Godfrey, PC's own building Trades teacher, visited Putnam County's S.O.A.R. program this past week to share information and expereinces he acquired while living in Alaska for nine years. Mr. Godrey shared about the weather, living conditions, the economy, the wildlife and career opportunities that he and his wife expereinced while living in Alaska, "the Last Frontier."
The Kindergarten through third grade students visited the farm of Patsy and Gary Thompson this week to learn more about the ducks, turkeys, pheasants, geese and peacocks that are raised on their farm. They also had the oportunity to feed their miniature burrows and alpacas. This was a fantastic learnin g experienced for the afterschool studnets. Summer afterschool students, and grandchildren of the Thompsons, Land and Nickolas assisted with the tour.
