STEM camp is entering its final week this week, July 31st to August 3rd. A good group of students have been putting their science and engineering skills to the test, collecting data to reduce water use in the garden, improve tree sapling survival and protect shellfish on local beaches. Many thanks to Pioneer STEM partners Washington State Master Gardeners, Taylor Shellfish, the Squaxin Tribe, the Nike Inventor’s Club, Capitol Land Trust and the Discovery Regional Science and Engineering Fair. Thanks also to Pioneer faculty Megan Thurston, Heidi Hague, Coral Warren and Tim Smith. Student projects from STEM camp will compete in local science fairs beginning with Pioneer’s fair in late February.
