First LEGO League held a regional competition virtually on Saturday, January 16. Team 792 took Grand Champions and qualified for the state tournament, scheduled for March 27. Team 794 CORE placed third.
The Re-play challenge theme targets ways to get people active and fit.The competition is sponsored by Iowa State University.
The Evans teams included:
- 792 Phitness Phorce developed the Physmo Quest. Combining an app and QR code scanners, the team developed a 20-step scavenger hunt. They coordinated with community members, professionals and other teams to challenge themselves to be fit and safe. Team members included: Carlos Jimenez, Brannon Flattery, Mia Bishop, Lydia Schmidt, Grady Zuithoff, Lauren Kendrick, Harrison Gottschalk, Josie Aljets, Dakota Cluff, Sawyer Batterson, and Talise Plate.
- 794 CORE focused on strengthening your core muscles for people who are confined to a wheel chair. Helping to increase mobility and focus on a healthy lifestyle, the team invented a multi-directional exercise machine for wheelchair-bound people. Team members included: Luke Thompson, Andrew Hunger, Lydia Krueger, Alyssa Turner, Addie Thompson, Raina Plate, and Noah Fogle. Not pictured: Naher Abraham
