The Evans Middle School Student Council will host their annual Fire and Ice Ice Cream Social at Ottumwa's North Fire Station on Thursday, May 2 from 4-6 p.m. Money raised will be used to purchase smoke detectors for families in Wapello County. Event sponsors include Hy-Vee, Ottumwa Fire Department, and Evans Middle School. Student council members will have advance tickets available for purchase. Tickets are also available at the event. Tickets are $3 for one bowl or 2 bowls for $5. Students hope to raise $1,000 this year. Parking is available behind the fire station.
