Concert for a Cause to Benefit Evans

The Evans Middle School music department has been selected as one of the recipients of this year’s 3rd Annual Ruth P. Seim Memorial Concert for a Cause - a benefit concert hosted by the Ottumwa Chapter of the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra. Promoting music education is at the heart of our mission, which is why we are proud to support our local school music programs with this initiative.

This concert is special because it will feature two incredible soloists. First, we will present our 2019 Marilyn Minford McCoid Young Artist Competition Winner, John Flannery, a junior from Washington, Iowa. Our 2019 Guest Artist in residence, Buddy Deshler of the Dallas Brass, will perform an exciting new trumpet solo with the orchestra. This will be a very inspiring concert for
musicians of all ages as supporters of music education and the arts. The concert will also feature a performance by the Evans Middle School Jazz Band. Join us at our pre-concert social and intermission to hear these wonderful young musicians perform. Don’t miss this chance to support and celebrate music education in our community.

HOW IT WORKS
75% of ticket sales will be donated to the selected music programs. In short, the larger the attendance, the larger the donation to our local music programs.
