Blood Typing Culminates Science Unit

After completing the circulatory unit in sixth grade science, students learned about blood donation this week and had their blood type identified. Thanks to volunteers from the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center who presented to students, then did finger pricks and testing to determine blood type with parent permission. The activity has been a partnership for several years, according to blood center staff. Blood center staff appreciate the opportunity to share information about blood donation and to raise awareness about the need.

Evans will host a blood drive in March for donors aged 16 and older.
