Tomorrow's Leaders is a leadership program offered to eighth graders this semester at Evans. The class is centered around teaching students good leadership and teamwork skills. Students get involved in developing, planning and executing different projects throughout the semester and assuming different leadership roles.
When students were asked what they would change if they were the leader for the day at Evans, they stated that they would change the way everyone treats each other. With that focus in mind, they came up with the idea of doing a "Week of Friendship" February 12-16. Under the mentorship of the Chief Reiner, the students undertook the task of creating and planning activities for each day of the week that involves different acts of kindness.
On Friday, February 16 during first period, the entire student body, teachers, administrative staff and support staff will be asked to come to the hallways, join hands, and form a chain of friendship that will extend throughout the entire school. Once the chain has been formed, a student from Tomorrow's Leaders will be on the intercom to say a few words for everyone to reflect upon.
This event is the start of many activities the Tomorrow's Leaders students will be doing throughout the semester to support a positive school climate at Evans Middle School.
