Students Advance in History Day Competition - 2017

Over 50 students from Evans Middle School competed in National History Day at Indian Hills Community College on April 7.  The theme this year was "Take a Stand in History." Students competed in several categories, including performances, websites, exhibits and documentaries.  Leticia Sosa qualified for state and will compete on Monday May 8, showing her documentary "Equal Rights in Education for Latino Students." Joe Hammer, Steven Duhr and Max Thomason were runner ups and also advanced to the finalist round with their group exhibit about Muhammad Ali.
