Six student chefs represented OHS at the spring Iron Chef Competition on April 22 at the Indian Hills Community College culinary lab.

Using an Italian vegetarian theme, students had limited time to prepare three courses, including starters, main entree, and dessert. Three judges rate the students on the taste of their dishes, knife skills, sanitation, food handling, proper cooking procedures, food prep, food utilization, clean up, and teamwork. The menu included:  fried spinach ricotta ravioli; marinara; caprese skewer with balsamic reduction; ratatouille atop eggplant parmesan with marinara and fresh grated cheese; garlic edamame beans; vanilla bean panna cotta with strawberry compote and tuile.

Spring semester chefs included:  Sebastian Welch, Tyler Coulter, Elizabeth Batterson, Juliet Lopez, Kaedin Henderson, and Hannah Lisk.
