The Teen Outreach Program (TOP) at OHS wants to ensure that every OHS junior and senior can attend prom.
Unfortunately for many students, the prom tradition comes with a cost and there are limited options available in Ottumwa. To help offset this, TOP is hosting a Prom Boutique on Thursday, April 21 from 3:15-5 p.m. in the third floor hallway across from room 318. Prom dresses, shoes, suits, and accessories can be found at the boutique. All items are free to keep.
In its second year, the boutique currently has a good selection of items needed to make prom a night to remember. "Every student deserves to go to prom," said Teen Outreach sponsor, Kolby Streeby. "We don't want financial barriors to burden their decision to go or not go."
The OHS prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 7. The group is still accepting donations of dresses, shoes, suits, etc. Donations can be dropped off inside the Fourth St. entrance or contact [email protected] for pick up.
Students work to organize the prom dresses.
