iJag Visits Iowa Capitol

Last week, three OHS students, Diana Dominguez, Madison Duncan, and Ray Davis, spent Thurs. promoting iJag at the Iowa Capitol. The trip included a meeting with Lt. Governor Adam Gregg, a meeting and tour of the Capitol with Ottumwa representative, Cherielynn Westrich, and a plaque presentation of appreciation to Senator Chris Cournoyer, who is one of Iowa's biggest iJag supporters.

Westrich had visited the OHS iJag classroom prior to the Capitol visit. Students enjoyed sitting in the House speaker's chair on the main floor. The tour also included climbing 298 steps to the top of the Capitol dome, where they enjoyed the view of the Des Moines skyline from the Capitol balcony.
