OHS debaters, Hailey Garrison and Paige Anderson, closed the Dowling Paradigm tournament with a record of two wins and four losses at the Bulldog's varsity season opener.

For Garrison, a junior, the tournament was only the second of her career. Anderson, a senior, returned to debate after Covid canceled the Bulldog's 2020-2021 season. Anderson and Garrison struck early with a round one victory over a team from North Broward Preparatory School, a private boarding school in South Florida. Put on their heels after defeats from the Broome County Debate Alliance, Iowa City West High, Spencer and Theodore Roosevelt High, Anderson and Garrison rallied in round six to advance over a team from Central High in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
