The OHS Girls Swim Team qualified for the State Swim Meet in three relays and one individual event. The state meet will be held on Friday and Saturday, November 12 and 13 in Marshalltown.
Leah Chelgren qualified individually in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:00.29. Chelgren is the first female swimmer to qualify in an individual event for OHS since at least 2005. Mac Payne, Chelgren, Libby Moses, and Ava Johnson qualified in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay, and the 400 Free Relay. In the 200 Medley Relay, Payne, Chelgren, Moses, and Johnson broke a 1989 OHS school record with the time of 1:53.66.
