After Hours Offers Support

students work after school

Starting this week, an after school program will provide credit recovery and homework assistance to students at Ottumwa High School.

The Career Campus After-Hours program will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5 p.m. at our new location, 331 E. Main in downtown Ottumwa. Students taking Courseware/Plato, as well as freshman who need help with homework or projects are invited to attend. By the end of September, all OHS students will be invited to use the program if needed.

The program will be staffed nightly with a combination of certified and noncertified staff. District Diversity Advocates will also take advantage of this opportunity, working one-on-one with students on homework, projects, and anything else we can help with.

"The Career Campus was built for our students," said Vern Reed, Director of Under-Resourced Student Programing.  "At Ottumwa, we want to "Be the Best"!  Part of being the best is supporting our students beyond the regular school day. We hope any student who needs some help will come and be a part of our Career Campus family!"
