Logan Hubbell , an OHS freshman, was selected as the August recipient of Pursuing Victory With Honor. He was nominated by Principal Mark Hanson This award will be given to the student who goes above and beyond the norm in citizenship, putting others before himself/herself, or being a tremendous asset to the Ottumwa High School community.
"I actually had the good fortune of witnessing this entire event," said Hanson. "A student unknowingly dropped a few dollar bills on the cafeteria floor and kept walking. Another student witnessed this, picked up the money, and pursued the student to give him his money back."
"Integrity does not seem to grow on trees any more, so when you get an example like this, you want people to know about it," Hanson said.
For being selected, he was presented with a certificate during second period and his class received donuts.
