The Ottumwa A Club has established an annual award to be presented to an Ottumwa High School girls or boys athletic coach in the name of Dan Staggs, an OHS PE teacher who coached tennis in Ottumwa continually for 50 years. Dan epitomized what it means to be a great coach, role model, and mentor to his students and athletes. This award is presented annually to a current or former OHS coach who also displays these outstanding qualities. DAN STAGGS AWARD - Joe Curran
Each year the Ottumwa “A” Club honors people who volunteer a great deal of time, effort and energy to our various sports programs. It is only through these volunteer efforts that we are able to provide our students with the outstanding athletic experience that they have.
- GENE SCHULTZ VOLUNTEER AWARDS - Jaime and Julie Thomas
- HOWARD ESLINGER AWARD - Tom Keck and Winger Contracting Company
