The Ottumwa High School Marching Band program has received a $1,000 sponsorship from UScellular’s Community Connections program to help pay for new uniforms.

The OHS band signed up on UScellular’s website and within 14 days, rallied their friends, families and social followers to complete digital activities, such as watching a video or following UScellular on its social channels to earn funds. Each completed activity earns money that goes directly to the organization.

“Groups like the OHS band provide meaningful experiences for youth in our community every day,” said Matt Kasper, UScellular’s director of sales for east Iowa. “We’re proud to be able to support the essential work they do, and it’s inspiring to see the community back them through this program and beyond.”
