The Ottumwa High School Activities Department, based upon guidance received from Governor’s Office, the Iowa Department of Education, the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, and the Iowa High School Athletic Association, has revised their procedures for spectator admission to fall 2020 athletic events effective Tuesday, September 8. The safety of our students, staff, and community members is of highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
These procedures are for events hosted in Ottumwa. For away events, we will communicate the host school's procedures.
Football:
- Masks will be required to enter the venue and are expected to be worn throughout the event.
- Social distancing is expected. Family members should sit together.
- Spectators can sit on the track to expand the opportunity for social distancing.
- A limited concession stand will be available.
- All youth in grades PK-5 must attend with an adult and are expected to sit with the adult throughout the contest.
Volleyball:
- Masks will be required to enter the venue and are expected to be worn throughout the event.
- Social distancing is expected. Family members should sit together.
- A limited concession stand will be available.
Swimming:
- Each player and coach will be issued 2 passes. This pass will allow the holder to pay admission or use a pass to gain entrance to the contest. No persons without a pass will be allowed to attend.
- Masks will be required to enter the venue and are expected to be worn throughout the event.
- Social distancing is expected. Family members should sit together.
- A limited concession stand will be available.
Cross Country and Golf:
- Masks are required and social distancing expected.
