All ninth graders and new students attending Ottumwa High School during the 2020-21 school year can pick up their Chromebook on Thursday, August 13 between 8-10 a.m. and 6-8 p.m. This will be a drive-thru event only. An alternate pick up date is scheduled for Thursday, August 20 during the same time blocks. Students unable to attend these pick up days should access the district website to request an alternate date and time.
OHS became a 1:1 school during the 2019-20 school when each student received a school-issued Chromebook for their use. The district also uses the Clever portal to house all digital resources for both students and staff.
Students must register for the 2020-21 school year prior to receiving a computer. Upon completion of the registration process, students will receive a verification email with a barcode and confirmation code. Please bring this code by having a digital copy on a cell phone, tablet, etc. or a printed copy. It is important that families bring this code for each student. Without this information, registration can't be verified and a device won't be assigned to the student. If your family needs assistance with registration, please contact the building secretary.
To receive your computer via our drive-thru process:
- Device distribution will take place at OHS. Staff will use the alley on the west side of the Votech building.
- Student/families will arrive on Second Street and enter the Votech building drive from the south and head north to the auto shop garage. This location is marked with a star on the map. At that location, families will show their code to verify they are registered. Upon confirmation, the student/family will receive their device. Students unable to verify registration will be directed west to exit the parking lot. Student/families will exit from the north entrance onto Fourth Street.
