Mi Phyo

Mi Phyo- Mi enjoyed volunteering at Ottumwa High School in her free time; you could often see her working concessions at a sporting event! Mi would describe her high school experience as fun and eventful. Mi will be attending Indian Hills Community College in the fall, then transferring after two years to Iowa State University. There she plans on majoring in computer programming/software.

Leadership Experience- Mi was always one of the first to offer a helping hand when she saw someone in need.

Most Influential Teacher- “Nancy Van Wyk. She helped me and showed me what an independent worker is. Always had me doing things other than what I was supposed to because she wanted me to succeed outside the box. She’s one to know how I work, at my own pace.”

Favorite OHS Memory- Her favorite memories are memories she made with friends. However, she always enjoyed making people laugh.

Advice to the Underclassmen- “You’ll lose friends here and there. Some people won’t have time to help you out. But always remember YOU worked for this, now that you have it, keep on going/" “There’s times you’ll give up, times you think you can’t do it anymore. Come on kid, you’re in high school. This is your moment to shine mentally. Don’t hurt yourself mentally. Put your mentality in an orbit of where things aren’t negative. Work for your needs and wants. You won’t regret it I promise.”
