Greatest Accomplishment - “Maintaining good grades while being involved in so many activities. It took a lot of hard work, but gave me many opportunities for my future.”

Describe something about your OHS experience that stands out to you - “The community surrounding our school is incredible. After attending OHS for four years, I know that students will always be part of the Bulldog Family and that’s something a lot of people aren’t lucky enough to be able to say.”

Leadership Experience - “GEAR UP Ambassadors allowed me to have leadership experiences that I wouldn’t have been able to have if I wasn’t involved in the group. I was also a part of the Wapello County Youth and Philanthropy Committee, which taught me about applying for grants. It also gave me the opportunity, along with other high school students, to be a part of a grant selection process. We were able to select a group who we felt was deserving of our grant money.”

Favorite OHS Memory - “Watching the girls basketball team make it far in the postseason tournament this year. This hasn’t happened for a long time, so I enjoyed watching the girls’ success because they put in a lot of hard work to get to that point.”

Most Influential Teacher - “Ms. Hanson is someone who I know I can always turn to for advice about college and who will answer any questions I have about life in general. She made my college search much easier, and without her I would not know all of the opportunities that are out there for me.”

What lessons will you take away from your OHS experience? - “To appreciate the little things and not take the time I have for granted. This year taught me that nothing is guaranteed, so live in the moment and enjoy it.”

Advice to Underclassmen - “Be involved and try new things. I tried golf my sophomore year and I ended up loving it. Being involved in our school can bring you a great group of friends and will give you a set of experiences that you can use for the rest of your life.”
