Reiley Kerns - Track and Field provided this senior with many outstanding memories from OHS. He plans to attend Indian Hills Community College for a year or two, then move on to a four year University.
Greatest Accomplishment - “Running faster times in track and P.E. class. Track and the running that I did in gym made me faster and stronger than what I was before high school. Over the last four years, I was able to break six minutes in the mile run and run the 400 meter Dash 10 seconds faster.”
Favorite OHS Memory - “Getting about a 5 second PR in the 400 Meter Dash at a track meet in Oskaloosa my junior year.”
What lessons will you take away from you OHS experience? - “To never give up and keep on working hard to accomplish my goals.”
Most Influential Teacher - “My track coach Mr. Nickerson because he helped push me to become faster. I ran about a 20 second 100 Meter Dash my freshman year and he pushed me to get faster over the last four years. By the time I was a junior, I could run the 100 Meter Dash in 14 seconds and was able to break a seven-minute mile.”
Advice to Underclassmen - “Enjoy every moment that you have in high school because time really does go fast and try to be involved in any clubs or sports. It will make your high school experience even better.”
