Drake Handling - Participating in football, basketball, baseball and track kept this senior busy and were the foundation for many of his favorite memories at OHS. Drake also noted that the teachers truly care about their students and want to create a bond that will last. His future plans are to go to the University of Iowa.
Favorite OHS Memory - “The fans and student section at our home basketball playoff game against Burlington. They were crazy, I've never been a part of something like that.”
Leadership Experience - “I was one of the captains for the football and basketball teams this year.”
Greatest Accomplishment - “Getting the most wins in the basketball program since 2008, and also winning a playoff game for the first time since 2008.”
Most Influential Teacher - “There are a few teachers that impacted me and one was Mr. Hartz. One way "Hartz" impacted me was because no matter what was going on in my life whether it was school related or just to talk about life I always felt like I could go to him and talk. There were times when we would joke around, but there were other times when we had more serious conversations. Another teacher that impacted me was Mr. Cochran. Being interested in majoring in business I think I took every business class I could've. Mr. Cochran gave me a head start so I know a little more going into college then I would've if I didn't take his classes.”
Advice to Underclassmen - “Don't take your time in high school for granted because it could be taken away without even knowing it.”
