Alexis Cook participated in drama, speech, Meistersingers, Sudden Impact show choir and cheerleading. As a freshman she won the OHS Talent Show for her rendition of “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” During her sophomore year her role as Morticia in “The Addams Family” musical won Best Newcomer and Best Actor in a Lead Role. She went to state in speech her sophomore and senior year. During her junior year, she won outstanding soloist during show choir competition.
She plans to attend Middle Tennessee State University and major in music with the hope of becoming a professional singer. “I always wanted to go to Nashville and sing,” she said. Middle Tennessee has an outstanding music program.”
Favorite OHS Memory - “Most years I was in Meistersingers, the last day of school before the holiday break we walked through the hallways and sang carols. I always thought that was really nice.”
Staff Member who Made an Impact - “I was involved in many things Mr. Vasconez was in charge of. He has always been really supportive of me, like a father-figure. He has given me great advice and great support.“
Advice to Underclassmen - “Don't let anyone else get to you, always keep your head up, focus on your goals, and don’t procrastinate.“
